The closest you'll ever get to a Rat Pack show without involving zombies...

Firstly - yay! It's finally the holidays. Which means I no longer have to stress about all the crap at work and can instead do things I enjoy, including finally updating my journal on a couple of things, starting with last night...

Went to the lovely O2 arena to see Michael Buble perform. Third time I've seen him and he was as excellent as always - a nice mix of his own songs and standards. He really does have a massive amount of charisma and stage presence. When he's singing he just sounds incredible - he honestly does have one of the greatest voices I've ever heard. When he's not singing, he's cheeky, naughty and very funny. He really was born in the wrong era and if you ever wondered what it might have been like to go to a show with Sinatra et al, then this is the closest you're ever going to get without resorting to some serious voodoo.

As usual his band were on top form too. It was very similar to the gig I saw back in November (he's pretty much been constantly touring since then) but with a new mix of songs, including one I've never heard him sing live before. I was pleased that he finished off the last part of Song For You without the mic again - it just goes to prove how brilliant his voice is, especially when it can fill a big arena like the O2.

Oh and Mum pointed out that he bares more than a passing resemblance to Jenson Ackles. He could be the cheeky younger brother...
