Pac-Man: The Movie?
A news story on Digital Spy has announced:

Pac-Man heads for silver screen
Thursday, December 29 2005, 19:45 GMT -- by Daniel Saney

Independent studio Crystal Sky are planning a movie based on classic arcade game Pac-Man.

According to the studio's official website a screenplay is in the final stages of preparation by Hal Haberman and Gil Kenan (Monster House), though no other details have yet been revealed.

This has got to be a joke, right?

How the blinking hell do you make a movie out of Pac-Man? Will it be a chilling morality tale about a big yellow blob who eats too many large white pills and starts seeing dead people?

Hollywood needs it's head testing! What next? Tetris?

Yup, seen King Kong and loved it to bits. I've been fangirling PJ since 'The Frightners'. See my previous post for squeeing and fic. :D

Will people never learn? You can't make movies into video games and you can't make video games into movies.

Why? Because it's all about cold, hard cash. And when you do something just for money, well, it doesn't come out quite right. Because your heart isn't into it, and if you don't love what you do, then you don't really care if it's crap so long as people buy it and fill your coffers.

I think yours is a good pitch. Maybe they'll do something post-modern and Tron-like and have it inside the game...
