Isn't it obvious?
Why are people saying that this now must be the end of the Torchwood? Are they missing the obvious plot development from here on in?

- Jack, a broken man, meets up again with the Doctor
- His adventures with Ten and likely the Doctor himself, persuade him that he can make amends and all the good he can do.
- He finally returns to Earth
- It will be a convenient time in the future when Gwen's child is old enough that she can return to work
- Jack and Gwen re-start TW, giving it a fresh beginning away from its dark past.
- It's kind of poetic that Jack then spends the rest of his massively long existence looking for atonement. And it finally ends with his sacrificing his remaining life to keep a civilisation alive until the Doctor can free them...

I can see there being a series 4 - I'd certainly like to see one. It might have to go in a slightly different direction, but nothing really rules it out. Lois is an obvious start for a new recruit. And who says it can't be Gwen who restarts Torchwood, ready for when Jack is able to come back?

I think some fans are missing the point, because they only see it from a shipper view, they're not thinking of the overall story being told.

Gwen restarting Torchwood is almost a given, imo.

It would certainly make sense. Though I suspect it might be a little while before any 4th series gets made, they'd be crazy not to give it a go - it's done very well on BBC1, and is popular in other countries, too.

hope you are very right, it would seem the most natural plot continuation to me. That ending gives them a natural finish if the viewing figures are not high enuf.
Personally Janto bored me so ditching Ianto is top and a new team with ajust 2 old faces allows a freshening up.

I have to say I miss Owen way more than Ianto. Owen was fascinating. And Suzie. I'll always regret that she didn't stick around for longer.

The ratings have been excellent. Higher than expected, especially considering it's mid-summer.

maybe they can bring her back...and Tosh...and Owen.
(I live in hope)

yes, Suzie was the great potential character that never hapened wasn't she. It is a real pity when they resurrected her that they didn't keep her.

This is pretty much how I saw it going too. I'm very interested to see how RTD is going to portray Jack in however many of the last Who Specials he's going to be in.
