When that open mouthed smilie is most appropriate...
Having a play with the Sims 2, watching a bit of Family Guy, thinking I should probably go to bed. News comes up: Michael Jackson is dead.

Obviously anyone who's seen him knows he wasn't exactly in the best of health and I was always doubtful that he'd do all those shows but that news was genuinely gob smacking.

The weird thing is, whilst I love a lot of his music I'm hardly a big fan. Yet I'm still properly stunned. His big fans are probably devastated and even someone like me, who liked to listen to his songs and nothing more, has sat up for half an hour whilst it sunk in. It's a very odd feeling, not really understanding why you're so shocked by something but I think it goes to show how 'big' his death is.
Current Mood: shockedshocked

I got middle of the night texts off people about it. It's all very strange, especially when he's been such a big part of popular culture for pretty much our entire lives.
